Whoever says Curaçao says beach! With about forty beaches on Curaçao, every day there is a choice of which beach to visit today. Fortunately, the island is not very big and most beaches are easy to visit. The best beaches can be found along the southwest coast in the area of Westpunt. Here you will find the most beautiful beaches such as Cas Abou which is 5 minutes away from Villanova and the beaches Daaibooi and Playa Porto Marie which are less than 10 minutes away. Other beautiful beaches on Curaçao are Grote en Kleine Knip, Playa Kalki, Playa Lagun and Playa Jeremi. But don't forget the more famous beaches of Jan Thiel and Mambo Beach. Actually, they are all nice to visit once.

In all the fancy ads about Curaçao you will see it mentioned, flamingo spotting! This is an absolute must-see, and there are several places where you can view these pink birds. One of the most beautiful spots is the bay at Sint Michielsbaai. Climb onto the viewing platform and behold the beauty.

Playa Grandi is the turtle beach in Curaçao. Located in Westpunt is a small beach also known as Playa Piskado or the fishermen's beach.

Fishermen leave here in the early morning with their boats and moor at the jetty of Playa Grandi during the afternoon. The catch is prepared on the beach for sale (recommended to buy a delicious piece of fish yourself) and the fish waste goes back into the sea. And that fish waste, turtles love that!

This makes Playa Grandi the perfect place to swim with turtles.
